Nambour is a community rich in history and natural beauty, making it a must-visit on your next Sunshine Coast escape.
Here you’ll find some of the region’s hidden gems such as Robinson Falls which - located just 3km outside of the Nambour CBD - is one of the Sunshine Coast’s lesser known natural attractions.
Nambour itself is home to a number of vibrant cafes and the nearby town of Woombye - which used to be called Cobb’s Camp due to the fact that it was a staging post for the Cobb & Co coaches – is home to a pub that first opened 1900.
Woombye is also home to The Big Pineapple, one of the Sunshine Coast’s most iconic attractions.
Located within The Big Pineapple precinct is the TreeTop Challenge – a thrilling adventure park that will take you 25m above the ground with 100 different challenges and 12 ziplines.
The precinct is also home to Wildlife HQ where you’ll find a whole range of animals, from native koalas and kangaroos to exotic animals like red pandas, meerkats and Queensland’s only Asian sun bear, Maly.
From there, take a trip down memory lane at the nearby Rick’s Garage in Palmwoods, a charming village set in the heart of the arts and craft hub which typifies the Sunshine Coast hinterland. At Rick’s Garage the walls and ceiling are plastered with old school posters and classic memorabilia and out the front visitors will find the real deal – with vintage cars and bikes lining the street on any given day.
